Christian Connection is the largest, and longest established subscriber based UK Christian dating site. Since we launched in September 2000, hundreds of couples have met through our site and thousands of single Christians have found friendship and community. I was aware that so many Christian friends were struggling when it came to finding somebody. There were very few opportunities outside local church. There were some dating sites available for Christians, but they were generally a bit tacky and focussed on the USA and American Christians.
So I developed the vision of starting a Christian dating site of the highest quality, which people of all Christian traditions in the UK and Ireland would feel comfortable and safe with and which would give them a real chance to find somebody special. I also wanted it to be a place of community, which single Christians could call their own, people who can feel rather marginalised in Church communities. Much about the site has changed and developed over time but it is still this vision that drives us.
Our values and the way we deliver our service are very important to us and, we believe, to our members.
We welcome Christians of all traditions. We don’t ask people to sign a statement of faith, and we recognise that people’s specific beliefs and the way they express and practise their faith can be quite broad. But it is important that people show respect to each other and their beliefs.
We don’t make false promises that we can’t deliver.
When Christian Connection was launched in September 2000 we set out with the goal that we wanted Christian Connection to be able to offer a service that was at least as good as if not better than some of the best secular sites in terms of quality of service and features. In a world where technology is changing constantly, that is quite a challenge but we listen to our members and are always trying to improve the quality and range of what we do. Our team of developers are constantly working to improve the customer experience and add new features.
Whenever we ask people why they choose Christian Connection, the word that comes up most often is trust. People are putting up their profiles, sharing details, putting their time and commitment in to the site and it is very important that they can trust us and the service we provide.
We also do our best to ensure that our members are also telling the truth to us and to each other. We check each profile and photo that comes on to the site and we have a dedicated customer service team who respond to comments and complaints from our members, deal with several queries each day and investigate any difficulties people are having on the site. If other members aren’t telling the truth, or are not behaving as they should, we personally address the situation. We also ensure that we keep people’s data confidential and help people keep safe.
Every day, on most dating sites (including Christian Connection) there are fraudsters trying to sign up to dating sites in order to find people they might be able to deceive in order to make money from them. We put in all kinds of measures and a great deal of time ensuring that we find and stop these people, getting them off the site and away from our members.

As we all know, being single and Christian can be a tough proposition. In many Churches, single people can feel invisible and under valued. Our members are like you and understand where you are coming from. There is an active community on the message boards and a system which allows members to organise local meetups. We also offer offline events such as speed-dating, quiz nights and themed parties giving members a chance to meet face to face in a comfortable environment. Some members stay on the site even once they have met someone because of the supportive and active community.
We know that there are so many difficulties and we are and always have been interested in working with others towards a better future for single people in the Church. We have joined with groups like Project One to take the message to the Church and to inspire single Christians to set up their own events and networks.

Although there are free Christian dating websites available, Christian Connection is very different and, we believe, much better! We ask for subscriptions because:
Some sites are free but they make money in a number of ways including from Google advertising or by creating databases of profiles and contact details that can be sold to other dating sites which do charge. If you do join a free site you may find that you are constantly being marketed to other sites.
Free sites generally have very limited customer service which may mean that profiles are not vetted. This can give scammers, who use the site to find people they can deceive into sending them money, a free run.
The great majority of “Christian Dating” sites are not run by Christians at all and some of them don’t even have many Christians on them. The majority of dating sites operating on the Internet are run by very large Dating “Platforms”. These platforms operate hundreds and sometimes thousands of different sites run by one organisation. They will run general sites, sites for casual daters, “adult” sites and even adultery sites. They simply see Christian sites as another way for them to take money.
Most of these site have no real Christian ethos or commitment to the Christian Community. In addition to that they very often have a shared database, and other members you meet may not have signed up to joining a Christian site at all but may have ticked “Christian” rather than ticking atheist or Muslim when signing up for another dating site. These people never signed up and hadn’t intended to be classified as Christian daters at all.
So while you might be apparently inundated by emails from potential dates, they probably won’t be from real Christians.
Many other Christian dating sites are American based – even though they may state that they are a UK site with a UK domain name. The majority of members will be international, or mainly American. With such sites there is a much higher risk of fraudsters coming on to the site looking for people they can trick into handing over money to them. There is often less accountability on such very large sites.
